Wye Marsh Rhythms Festival &
Canadian Wildlife Carving Championships

Join us for two great days of Family Fall Fun, Music, and Activities.  The Canadian Wildlife Carving Championships will resume this year with a flurry of activity both inside and outdoors.  Enjoy guided canoe excursions, musical entertainment, Wet N Scaly & Birds of Prey Shows, Kids Zone, Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers Wild Game Taste-Testing, Kings Craft Taxidermy, all day BBQ provided by Simcoe County Smokers, and a beer garden sponsored by Robert Simpson Brewery.  The Junior Game Calling Championship hosted by Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club for Moose & Turkey will be taking place on Sunday from 11am to 1pm. Special guests performing on Sunday afternoon only will be The Desotos on the CHAY stage.  

Date: Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th

Time: 10:00 am-5:00 pm

Cost: Admission $8.00 per person, $25 family pass, and children 3 and under are free

The 2008 Canadian Wildlife Carving Championships

After a 1 year absence, the Wye Marsh Association of Wood Carvers is pleased to announce that once again, we will be hosting the 2008 Canadian Wildlife Carving Championships in Midland, Ontario. The site of the competition, the Wye Marsh, provides a great setting for a major wildlife carving competition.

Turkey Trot Races at Wye Marsh

Let’s Get Running! The Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre invites you to leap into a natural experience you will always remember. Take part in the 5 km Race or Half Marathon through the trails of Wye Marsh and experience the beauty of nature.

Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each race and age category.  Also each participant will receive a T-shirt and medal to commemorate this event. 

Date: Saturday, October 11th, 2008    

Time: Hand-out of Kits at 8:00 am, Half Marathon Race Starts at 9:00 am & 5K Race Starts at 9:30am     

Cost: $30.00 per person, please pre-register before October 4th

Wye Marsh Annual Fundraising Dinner

The Annual Wye Marsh Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at Wye Marsh on Thursday, October 16th, 2008. This evening will begin with a guided walking tour of the Marsh, then a Social Hour and Silent Auction. Please call the Wye Marsh to purchase your ticket and reserve your place as space is limited. Business casual attire.

 Meet the Marsh Monster at Wye Marsh

Meet the Marsh MonsterThe Wye Marsh invites everyone to come out and hear the legend of the Marsh Monster and to celebrate Halloween. Take a haunted walk through eerie trails, illuminated by grinning jack-o-lanterns, searching for the Marsh Monster. Come and uncover the mysteries of the Marsh. Wear your most creative costume and please bring a flashlight.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Time: 6:00 to 9:00 pm         Cost: $5.00 per person
