Full Moon Spring Peepers Walk

Come out and enjoy one of the first signs of spring, the Spring Peeper.  These small frogs create one of the loudest natural sounds in spring and summer.  A Wye Marsh naturalist will teach you the tricks to tracking down these tiny creatures and how to listen to the frogs of the wild.  We will even work on a little choir of our own as we sing out the choruses of the different frogs of Ontario .  No “froggin” adventure would be complete without one of our famous Wet N Scaly reptile shows.  Come out, have some fun, and make some friends with nature noisiest animals!
Date: Saturday, May 17th
Time: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Cost: $5 for members and $8 for non-members

DOGGIE DAYS!
K-9 friends are always welcome at the Wye Marsh. Join us along with your poochy pals for a doggie social!  A Wye Marsh naturalist will lead you and your companion on a one hour guided walk throughout the magnificent Wye Marsh interpreting our many points of interest.  After a look around the Marsh, it is play time for your pal.  A Wye Marsh naturalist will lead a variety of doggie games which are geared at burning of some energy and creating a social atmosphere for your pup.  This is a great way to exercise both you and your dog, while meeting other dog owners from the area.  Please note:  Proper doggie etiquette is required.  Dogs must be on leashes during the guided walk.
Date: Sunday, June 1st
Time:  1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Cost: General admission (pooches and members are free!)

Theatre troupe rides into Midland, changing the world from the seat of their bicycles

A group of young cyclists from across Canada will ride into Midland on Tuesday, June 3 armed with an inspiring message of youth empowerment and sustainable consumption. Members of the Otesha Project will perform their award-winning Morning Choices play at Wye Marsh Wildlife Center at 7:00pm.

The traveling theatre troupe is pedaling 1,200 kilometers across Ontario, delivering theatre performances to dozens of communities along the way. On the road, the actors live as a mobile and sustainable community for two months, cycling from performance to performance, braving the elements, connecting with communities along the route, and exploring all the ups and downs of directly addressing environmental and social justice issues through their own every day actions.

The Otesha Project is a youth-run charitable organization that uses theatre to mobilize young people to create local and global change through their daily consumer choices.

Otesha troupes have performed to more than 72,000 people across Canada and won international awards for our innovative and effective youth-engagement programs. Seven cycling and performing tours are criss-crossing Canada in 2008. Don't miss your opportunity to see one of them! Check out www.otesha.ca for more information, and see you at the show!

Date: Tuesday, June 3rd
Time: 7:00pm
Cost: $5.00 per person
