Rain Barrel Fundraiser

Wye Marsh is teamed up with RainBarrel.ca to host a Rain Barrel fundraiser sale this spring - buy a barrel, save water, support Wye Marsh!

 Thank you to everyone who participated  in our fundraiser. Ordering is now closed. We will see you on April 20 for pick up! 

Buying a Rain Barrel saves you water, energy and money at home, while also supporting Wye Marsh's stewardship initiatives including the conservation of our wetlands.

Where do I get my Rain Barrel?
Order your Rain Barrel online below through our partner site BEFORE April 12, and then pick up your rain barrel on April 20th, 2019 at Wye Marsh as we celebrate Earth Day Weekend! You will be directed to our partner site, RainBarrel.ca. Proceeds from this sale will support Wye Marsh's stewardship initiatives. You must place your order online so that we know how many Barrels need to be delivered!

What is a Rain Barrel?
A rain barrel is a system that collects and stores rainwater from your roof that would otherwise be lost to runoff and diverted to storm drains and streams.

Why are Rain Barrels so important?
Lawn and garden watering make up nearly 40% of total household water use during the summer. A rain barrel collects water and stores it to water plants, wash your car, or to top a swimming pool. A rain barrel will save about 4,900L of water during the peak summer months.

How much does a Rain Barrel cost?
Rain Barrels are $55.00 for 220L barrel, with other sizes/ attachment options available and are ordered online through our partner site. You can either pay online when placing your order, or upon pickup at the Wye Marsh on April 20, 2019. 

How do I pay for my Rain Barrel?
You can either pay online with a credit card through RainBarrel.ca, or you can choose to pay upon pick up on April 20, 2019 at Wye Marsh. 

Do I get a rebate for a Rain Barrel?
In some municipalities, yes! Contact your municipality to see if they offer rebates or insentives to purchase Rain Barrels.
