Winter Wetlands Workshop
Learn about all the wonders of a winter wetland from some experts on a guided hike of Wye Marsh!
Take an insightful journey exploring the hidden treasures of our winter wetlands with the inspiring Bob Bowles. Learn how to identify mammal tracks, winter mushrooms, plus trees and plant species unique to the Marsh with this award-winning writer, artist and naturalist and our very own Wye Marsh Stewardship Manager, Patrick Jackson!
Where: Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
When: Sunday March 6, 2022 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm OR from 2:00pm - 3:00pm
How much: $25.00 per participant, includes snowshoe rental if needed depending on weather.
Who: Ages 10+. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Masks are required when indoors. Please dress appropriately for the weather for this outdoor workshop.

About the Instructors:
Bob Bowles is an award-winning writer, artist, photographer and naturalist. He is Founder and coordinator of the Ontario Master Naturalist Certificate program offered at Lakehead University in Orillia, Ontario. He has worked on contracts, investigating element occurrences and conducted biological inventories for the Ministry of Natural Resources, Tiny March, Minesing Wetland complex, Severn Sound Environmental Association, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Wye Marsh and Environmental Defense. The Robert L. Bowles Nature Centre has been named after him to honour his lifetime commitment and dedication to preserving and conserving nature.
Patrick Jackson is Wye Marsh’s Stewardship Manager. Patrick will help you identify calls, show you the best locations for bird sightings, offer excellent photo tips and give you insider information about the wetlands and two forest types at Wye Marsh.
